Hi-ReAD was developed and validated in cassava, a clonally propagated crop with a complex genetic architecture. Using this approach, we were able to pinpoint the causal genetic variant underlying CMD2 disease resistance, demonstrating the ability of Hi-ReAD to resolve precise resistance variants in clonally propagated crops without relying on breeding populations.
